Joyce gets vaccinated

Joyce finally got her first dose of Covid-19 vaccination today.  I was surprised at how many people were waiting to get the vaccine.  Joyce had an appointment at noon, but she had to wait until 12:30pm before getting her shot.  We waited for fifteen minutes afterwards, and Joyce said she never felt any discomfort.  In fact, she said she didn't even feel the shot.  She will return for her second dose in three weeks.  We sure hope this works to keep her safe from the virus.

Baylor has started crawling

Baylor is starting to get on the move.  It's hard to believe she is about 8 months old now.  It won't be long before she takes her first few steps.

A few home projects

On Friday, February 19th, I spent most of the day installing shower doors in our upstairs Master Bedroom's bath.  They turned out nice.  We were hoping for the more contemporary style door hangers, but the stores just aren't stocking products like they have in the past.  It seems to get harder and harder to find what you are looking for.  On Saturday we rented a U-Haul and went to Costco to purchase a new Queen size bed set.  We have been in need of one for a long time, and after sleeping on it last night I can tell we will need to get used to the firmness of a new mattress.  I do think that we won't be so achy in the morning.

Winter finally arrived

It's President's Day and the kids have the day off from school.  It has been snowing in Pocatello for the past few days, including today, so we decided to go to the sledding hill at Ammon Park.  It is a popular place and there were quite a few people there.  The boys had a good time, and we avoided any serious injuries.  Cooper and Beckham did find a jump and took to the air.  The landing was hard and Beckham didn't like that.  He still enjoyed himself and didn't want to leave when we were done.

Happy Birthday Kaleb!

Last evening we celebrated Kaleb's 12th birthday.  We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and then we had cake and ice cream at our home.  Kaleb wanted donuts in the cake.  I attempted to bake the donuts with the cake only to ruin the donuts.  So I replaced the baked donuts with fresh maple bar donuts and then covered the cake with icing.  It actually turned out alright.  We watched Groundhog's Day with Bill Murray to top off the day.  Speaking of Groundhog's Day, I guess the groundhog saw his shadow yesterday which means six more weeks of winter.  Wendy said that she would take more of this winter anytime because it has been so mild.  This morning we did wake up to an inch of new snow.  It was the first morning I've needed to shovel snow for well over a month.
