Wendy moves to a new office

Wendy has worked in the same office for eleven years, but April 30th was her last day in that office.  Her employer asked her department to make a move to a location closer to the hospital.  We moved several boxes and supplies to her new office.

Wendy's new office is smaller than the one she left, and it may take a few days to get reorganized, but it is a good space, and it is within walking distance of the hospital.  Wendy used to have to drive in order to get to meetings at the hospital.  Her new location will save her significant time.

Probably the best aspect of her new office location is the view from her window.  She overlooks Pocatello and the mountains surrounding Portneuf valley.  It is also close to a bicycle path that Jeffrey and I use all the time from home which means we will be able to stop and say hello more frequently.  Not sure if she will like that or not.

Archery Range

Tonight we had a youth activity at an indoor archery range.  I went with Jeffrey and Kaleb and other youth from our ward.  This is the first time we have ever been at this range.  The boys have had some experience in the past with archery at Scout camps, and this reminded me of a Scouting event.  The boys had a good time with it.  They had to blow up balloons to pin to the wall, and they both managed to shoot and pop a few balloons.  I think Kaleb got one by accident.  He was practicing holding and shooting the bow without carefully aiming and got one.  We both laughed about it.

The Dentist

Wendy and I have had our share of dental work this month.  Wendy had to have a second root canal.  The tooth was really painful.  This time her tooth was rooted at an angle, so she had to go see a specialist.  She will need to return to have it crowned.  After my cleaning the dentist told me I had two cavities, so today I went in and had them both filled.  There was one cavity on each side of my lower jaw so they had to numb both sides of my mouth.  I couldn't feel my tongue for a couple of hours.

Piano Festival 2021

In February, Jeffrey was videotaped while playing the piano at his teacher's home.  Normally he would have played on stage at Idaho State University, but that was another event changed by Covid-19.  The file was too large to add to the post, but I have created a link to the video on my Google Drive.  He received a Superior rating from the judges.  This was his seventh year that he has participated in the Festival.

Concert Band Performance

Tonight we went to Century High School to watch Jeffrey participate in a Concert Band performance.  It was the first time we have watched him perform in high school.  Jeffrey really does enjoy music, and we could see him tapping his foot to the rhythm as he played the French Horn.  His friend, Gabe Cornia, also plays the French Horn.  This summer Jeffrey is anticipating playing in the Century Marching Band which was cancelled last summer due to Covid.

Spring Snow and Happy Birthday Grandma Reighlyn

So we woke up this morning in Pocatello to a couple of inches of wet snow.  By this afternoon it had all melted off, and this evening we were out enjoying a walk through the neighborhood and watching a nice sunset.  That's weather in Idaho.  Grandma Reighlyn celebrated her birthday today.  She and David had dinner at the Timber Mine Restaurant in Ogden.  Happy Birthday Mom!

Easter Sunday

Today is Easter Sunday.  We are having really nice weather for it.  Tyler and Jaylen sent Wendy a picture of Baylor in her first Easter outfit.  We had a nice breakfast this morning and Jeffrey and Kaleb did a quick Easter egg hunt in the backyard.  At 9:20 a.m. we had a power outage.  It was out for about an hour and a half.  During that time, Wendy and I visited with Megan, Cooper, and Beckham at their house.  It looked like the kids were enjoying their Easter morning baskets.  They had lost power as well.  The power was restored as we were leaving their house, and we returned home to watch the remainder of the Sunday morning session of General Conference.

Caz and Ashley Celebrate

Caz and Ashley celebrated his birthday on Friday with a nice dinner at a Spanish tapas restaurant in Frederick, Maryland.  Saturday they went golfing with their friend Kenon, and golfing today in Gettysburg.  It looks like the weather was really nice.  In the last picture Caz is sporting a new Titleist hat that Wendy got for him.

Our Travel Trailer

For several weeks now I have been gutting half of our travel trailer.  I removed the bed, closet, cabinets, partition, and couch.  Then I removed the walls and insulation to expose the wood frame.  We had a pretty bad leak from the front right corner of the roof, and over the years it had rotted the wood.  I removed all of the bad wood and replaced the damaged roof.  Now I am in the process of rebuilding the bedroom.  I am putting in new insulation, flooring, and walls.  The new roof section is now waterproof, but I still need to put a new layer of rubber roofing material over the entire roof.  I have the trailer parked next to our shop at the airport so I can work on it while watching the counter.  It works out really well.
