Last Day of School

Rock Climbing Wall at ISU

       The Young Men and Young Women had a combined activity tonight at the rock climbing wall at ISU.  We had a group of fifteen youth who went, and everyone seemed to really enjoy it.  I got this picture of Kaleb and Jeffrey climbing at the same time.  Jeffrey really got into it, and he was able to reach the top using several different tracks.  It is a large wall about forty feet high and runs the full length of a basketball court.  This is a great activity for building teamwork and getting kids to have trust in each other and open up to each other.  It was definitely worthwhile.

 

Joyce Sims Celebrates Birthday

    Joyce celebrated her 92nd birthday today.  She was given a tea party by her granddaughters in the afternoon, and then we had a lasagna dinner with John and Karen and Greg.  Megan and Cooper and Beckham came over when we did cake and ice cream.  We gave her a hanging flower basket.  

 

Piano, Lacrosse, and Pickleball

    We had a busy afternoon and evening today.  I left work and then picked up Wendy at the nail salon.  Then we picked up Jeffrey from school and met up with Kaleb at home.  I took Jeffrey to his piano lesson and then dropped off Wendy and Kaleb at OK Ward Park to watch Cooper and Beckham play Lacrosse.  I picked up Jeffrey then returned to the park to watch the boys play for a little while.  Then we ran home to get rackets, and we met up with the Young Men to go to Rowland Park to play tennis and pickle-ball.  It was really nice weather and we played until sunset.  It was a fun evening, but tiring.
