Cooper and I went with other Young Men and Mike Cornia from our ward to hike Mt. Borah. We left our house at 3:00 a.m. and arrived at the trailhead about 5:00 a.m. After a quick breakfast we started up the trail. This is one of the steepest trails I've ever hiked. Cooper did very well. We arrived at Chicken Out Ridge about 10:00 a.m. and we were forced to stop due to cold and rainy weather. The temperature had dropped to 37 degrees and the rain was making the pathway slippery, so we were not able to make it to the summit. We hiked back down, and my legs became very sore and tired. We got back to the car about 1:00 p.m. We stopped for lunch at Pickles in Arco, and then we got back home about 4:00 p.m. I have to say that is a heck of a hike, and I want to be in better shape before attempting it again.
