Temple Open House and Buddy's

Today our group toured the Pocatello Temple.  Our group included Glen Ray, Bruce and Cindy, Joyce, Tyler and Baylor, and Wendy and myself.  It is beautiful.  Tyler took a picture of our group with the sun shining behind the spire that I really like.  It is a large temple decorated with Syringa, Bitterroot, and Indian Paintbrush flowers.  The flowers are in the stained glass and painted on the ceilings.  I love the design of it, especially the baptistry.  After touring the temple we went to Buddy's restaurant for lunch.  We were joined by Karen and Kevin.  We enjoyed lunch and all of us came away with "Buddy Breath".  Tyler and Baylor returned home after lunch.  Baylor gave us a princess wave goodbye as they left.

Fall Colors, Birthday Party, and a New Rental Location

Tyler and Baylor came up on Sunday to stay for a couple of nights.  Then, Bruce and Cindy Ray with Glen Ray flew to Idaho Falls last night to stay for a few days.  This morning, Bruce, Glen, and I drove to Blackfoot to pickup the pork that we had purchased last month.  We managed to make it fit in our chest freezer with the beef we had purchased.  Later, all of us took a drive up Rapid Creek and Hoot Owl to see the fall colors.  They were great.  We caught the leaves at just the right time.  Some of the trees were a bright flaming red color and others were bright yellow.  In the evening we all got together to have a birthday dinner for Tyler, along with Kevin, Kaleb, and Joyce.  We had a nice time.  Also today, I signed a new Operator Agreement with Avis/Budget to take over the Boise Downtown location.  It will be our third rental location, and I think it will be good for us.

Marching Band, Wedding Reception, Football, and a Return Visitor

Today was a nice, busy day.  I should mention that last night, Wendy and I attended the first Century High School football game since Tyler last played for them.  This time we were there to support Jeffrey who was playing in the marching band.  Jeffrey had a great time, even though the Century football team lost by a large margin.  After the game he went with a group of friends to have ice cream and he stayed out until 11:30pm.  This morning, Jeffrey and I went to Highland High School for a marching band competition.  The director from the University of Utah was there to judge the bands and give them suggestions.  We were there from 1030am to 330pm.  I volunteered with other parents to help unload and move equipment.  That is a big job!  You don't realize as a spectator just how much work there is in a marching band performance.  At 5:00pm, Wendy, Joyce and I went to Inkom to attend Greg and Sierra McNabb's wedding reception.  They were going to hold it outside, but the weather and wind prevented that.  It was a nice reception and they served ice cream floats and cookies.  About 7:00pm we drove from Inkom to Fort Hall High School to watch Kaleb play football.  Kaleb was in for most of the game on the front line, and he said he made too many tackles to count.  His team won their game.  We had a return visit from our deer friend.  He looks pretty healthy, and he ate one of Wendy's pumpkins.  We will have to keep chasing him off, but it's kind of nice having him visit too.

Ryan and Megan move to Virginia

Ryan and Megan flew from Washington Dulles to Pocatello in order to pack a U-Haul trailer and drive back to Virginia.  They worked all day on Thursday and then left early Friday morning to begin the long drive.  It will take them about three days, and hopefully the truck will make it OK.
