End of Summer Thunderstorm

We had a terrific thunderstorm tonight.  The weather service posted a severe thunderstorm warning for Bannock County.  I went outside to watch it for a while as it came over the mountains.  It attracted a lot of attention because of the frequent lightning.  Our neighbors, the Parks, were in the street cheering whenever there was a large streak of lightning.  Then it started to rain, so everyone had to move indoors.  The rain came down in a torrent, and it turned into hail for a while.  The lightning kept going for several hours.  It seems like we can go for weeks with no moisture, and then we get it all at once.  The video clip is at a faster speed.

Century's Homecoming Game

Century played Minico at their Homecoming Game tonight.  Jeffrey left home early to attend the tailgate party, and to be part of the Pep Band.  Wendy and I decided to attend.  It was a beautiful night for a football game, although it started to get chilly after the sun went down.  I was wishing I had brought a jacket.  We ate some BBQ pulled pork from the food truck for dinner.  Jeffrey came to see us after they performed during the halftime show.  He was decked out in Century colors and face paint.  Century never had a chance in this game, and Wendy and I left during the 4th quarter.  Jeffrey went out with his friends for ice cream after the game, and they stayed up late playing around in the Quad at ISU.

Ashley's Baby Shower and celebrating Caz

The baby shower for Ashley was held today at our home.  The decorations turned out beautiful.  Several of Ashley and Caz's relatives attended, and a number of their friends came to support them as well.  They received a lot of great gifts, and it looks like they will be well stocked with baby clothes, books, and supplies.  Wendy was busy most of the day, and she prepared an Enchilada dinner for us as well.  A cake was delivered to celebrate Caz as he had successfully completed his Master's of Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.  Caz's parents joined us after dinner, and they stayed to visit for a while.  It was a nice day.

Wendy's Sunflowers

In June, Wendy had planted several Sunflower seeds, and she carefully watered them all summer.  She had to thin them out as they grew in order to make room for them.  They have become giants, and they make a great wall of green along our walkway to the backyard.  Wendy loves Sunflowers.
