We continue to see our deer friends. This time I noticed them first in our front yard. After taking their picture they decided to move to our back yard, and one of them lay down just outside our bedroom window. They look like they have had plenty to eat, but their fur coats are pretty shaggy.
Today we had Kevin, Kay, and Kaleb over to watch the big game. The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a tight match. We had a nice spread of food. Some of the family had participated in an NFL Bingo that each person paid $50 to participate. Kevin was so close to winning $1,000, and he only missed it because the Chiefs hit the upright when they attempted a field goal, and the ball bounced away from the goal post. If they had scored the Chiefs would have been up 10-7 and Kevin would have won the Bingo for that quarter.
Tyler, Jaylen, and Baylor came to Pocatello for the weekend. They are attending a family birthday celebration with Jaylen's family. We were able to visit with them, and we ate lunch at the new Olive Garden in Pocatello. This was our first opportunity to eat at the new restaurant. They were very busy. It seems like every time we see a new restaurant in Pocatello that everyone goes to it, but after a few months the excitement dies down and the business struggles to stay open. I think Olive Garden will probably do OK. It was fun to see the kids again and to have some play time with Baylor.
We helped celebrate Kaleb's birthday this evening. At first, Kevin and Kay were going to go to Outer Limits, but when they got there the place was packed with kids without a single table available. They decided to try bowling but were not able to find an available lane. They came to our house and we sang to Kaleb and ate cake and ice cream. Kaleb turned fourteen years old. It's hard to believe that he is becoming such a tall and handsome young man.
