Our Day at California Adventure

We started the day early again with breakfast at the hotel.  Wendy and I were moving a bit slower this morning so the kids went on ahead to grab a place in line at California Adventure.  It sprinkled rain just a little and then quickly dried out.  Everyone in line headed to the Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land which caused quite a backup.  Wendy and I were in line for about an hour.  Jeffrey went straight to Guardians of the Galaxy in the Avengers Campus and then he went as a single rider on the Radiator Springs Racers twice before Wendy and I even rode once.  We took a family picture in front of Flo's V8 Cafe.  Baylor and Camden met Lightning McQueen and then the kids rode on Mater's Graveyard Jamboree.  We went to Guardians of the Galaxy, but Wendy and I took Camden to the Animation Academy.  The kids caught up with us and we did the Turtle Talk with Crush.  Crush called on Baylor to ask him a question but she got a bit shy so Tyler helped her out.  We went to the Pacific Wharf to have lunch.  They now have a Big Hero 6 Theme and Baylor got to meet Baymax.  We walked around Paradise Bay and the kids enjoyed several rides.  Wendy and Baylor went together on the Jumpin' Jellyfish.  Tyler and Baylor rode the Silly Symphony Swings a couple of times.  I went with the older kids to ride the Incredicoaster which is now themed with The Incredibles.  I really liked the way it turned out.  Kaleb and Baylor rode Jessie's Critter Carousel.  We eventually did Soarin' Around the World, which was good but I missed Soarin' Over California.  It was starting to get dark, and Wendy and I were both tired so we returned to our hotel room.  We ordered food from the hotel restaurant and relaxed for the rest of the evening.  Jeffrey and Kaleb stayed at the park to ride as much as they could, and Jeffrey got back to our room about 9:30 p.m.

A Day at Disneyland

Everyone was up early for breakfast at the hotel.  The day started out cool and cloudy, but became warm and sunny as the day progressed.  We got through the front gate without too much trouble and waited with the crowd at the end of Main Street.  Wendy was getting used to driving the scooter, and we waited while the kids did their first ride on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.  Jeffrey took off to Space Mountain.  We stayed with the kids in Fantasyland for a while.  We went together to Tomorrowland, and Wendy and I watched Camden while the kids went on Space Mountain, but we did ride with Camden and Baylor on the Astro Orbiter.  All of us did Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters together.  We walked over to Toon Town and rode Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway which was the first time any of us had been on that.  I thought it was pretty cool.  Baylor got to meet several Disney characters.  We were getting hungry and started towards Frontierland.  We stopped to ride Big Thunder Mountain and then all of the family had lunch together at the The Golden Horseshoe.  After lunch we went Indiana Jones, but Wendy and I took Camden on the Jungle Cruise.  Then I took Baylor on a walk around Tarzan's Treehouse.  We went together to Tiana's Bayou Adventure, and I thought it was OK.  I missed the Splash Mountain theme.  The family split up after this.  Wendy and I went to explore Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.  We met up with Jeffrey and we rode Rise of the Resistance.  What a fantastic ride!  It quickly became my favorite ride in Disneyland.  Wendy and I met up with Jeffrey and Kaleb to ride Pirates of the Carribean.  Then we went to the Enchanted Tiki Room.  After that we walked through the Main Street stores.  Wendy bought souvenirs for Camden and Baylor, and we watched a barbershop quartet sing.  It was dark and getting colder, and we were all feeling a bit tired.  Jeffrey and Kaleb were still going strong on rides.  We went with the kids to eat dinner at Panera's and then returned to our hotel rooms.  Jeffrey stayed until the park closed at 8:00 p.m. to get the most he could out of the day.

A Disney Vacation

A few months ago Kevin and Kay announced that they were planning to take Kaleb to Disneyland for his 16th birthday, and they invited the rest of the family to join them.  Wendy, Jeffrey and I wanted to go, so we coordinated our stay with Caz, Ashley, Camden and Tyler, Jaylen, and Baylor.  We booked rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn in Anaheim about a block away from the main entrance to Disneyland.  Kevin, Kay, and Kaleb flew down on Sunday, February 2nd.  They stayed with Kay's mom, and they celebrated Kaleb's birthday.  I drove to Boise on Sunday night in order to cover the rental store on Monday, and I stayed at Kevin and Kay's home.  Wendy and Jeffrey drove to Ashley and Caz's home on Sunday to stay the night.  They were joined by Tyler and Baylor after leaving Murphy with Jaylen's parents.  They all drove to the airport on Monday where they met up with Jaylen who had flown in from Arizona.  They all took the same Delta flight to Long Beach airport and then took an Uber to Anaheim.  They checked into the hotel and rented an electric scooter for Wendy.  In the evening they met up with Kevin, Kay, and Kaleb for dinner in Downtown Disney at Black Tap Craft Burgers and Shakes.  While they were enjoying their meal I was waiting at the Boise airport for my delayed flight to depart.  My flight on Alaska Air took off almost two hours late, and I arrived at LAX about 11:00 p.m.  I took a Lyft to Anaheim, but I went to the wrong hotel at first.  I finally joined Wendy and Jeffrey in their hotel room just before midnight.
