I have been searching for a used car to buy for the past several weeks. I wanted a full size car like the Chevy Malibu, Nissan Altima, Kia Optima, or Hyundai Sonata. I looked around Pocatello and drove a Malibu and Optima, but I decided that they either had too many problems or were overpriced. I searched for something in Utah, and there were a couple of options that looked promising. A Nissan Altima in Orem, Utah caught my attention, so I decided that today I would take Jeffrey with me to check it out and buy it if it drove well enough. I had planned to leave at 8:00 a.m. but several things came up at work, so we spent two hours at the airport before we left for Utah. We got to Pleasant Grove about 12:30 p.m. and stopped to eat lunch with Tyler at R&R BBQ. I called the dealership in Orem, and they said that they still had the car. Jeffrey and I went to it, and we took it for a test drive. It was a 2017, and it had a lot of features that I liked including a sunroof. The engine sounded all right. The motor oil looked good. The transmission shifted between gears just fine without running at high rpms. I connected a code reader, and it didn't find any codes. I couldn't find anything that I could object to. It had a rebuilt title, and the sales agent showed me pictures of the damage prior to the repairs. I was happy with the repairs, as I couldn't tell that anything had happened. The car was selling for $7,990 which was really good. I decided to buy it, which went smoothly. Jeffrey drove the Altima home while I followed behind him. The traffic through Salt Lake made me nervous and slowed us down, but we got back home around 5:00 p.m. I hope the car will last without major repairs - buying a used car is such a gamble.
